George Bernard Shaw said: “The first condition of progress is the removal of censorship.”
I mistakenly believed that The Daily KOS was a place for the expression of “progressive” ideas and values. Along with commentary on how those ideas and values could be advanced.
I’ve recently learned that it is only true if you’re in lock-step with The Administrators of the Great and Powerful KOS.
I shall continue to log-on and endorse postings I believe are “progressive” and promote the progress I hope can be achieved. But it has been made clear that posting of comments or blogs that are NOT in LOCK-STEP with those who know best and reflect their decision will be CENSORED.
To choose between two evils is to choose evil. I shall not choose their lessor evil. Not when I can actively choose a non-evil alternative.
Former Supreme Court Justice Potter Stewart said: “Censorship reflects a society’s lack of confidence in itself.” Clearly The KOS Administrators lack confidence in their Anointed One. Why else would they censor those who reject their choice and offer up alternatives? Why else would they censor those who say: “There is a better choice and here is how you can make that choice.”
Tommy Smothers said: “The only valid censorship of ideas is right of people not to listen.” But The KOS Administrators aren’t willing to extend that basic and simple right to readers. After all, there may be readers who are not yet embrace the Anointed One of The KOS and its Administrators and who are wavering in their commitment. Those poor souls must be protected from we infidels who dare to offer up an alternative and a pathway that does not lead to the foot of The Sacred Anointed One.
