Guilty! I’m a Hit & Run diarist. And I don’t babysit. I’m an artist. I create a “work of art” and I put it out for display. My critics and they are many, then criticize my work. That’s Okay, it’s what I expect. And with much effort I’ve learned to listen to them. Those who don’t like my work are much better at explaining to me (and the rest of the world) my flaws and shortcomings, than are my admiring critics. And I do respond to those critics, when I find merit in their criticism. I do so by modifying my next work in ways I hope will make me a better, more skillful, and yes more provocative artist. What I don’t do is respond directly to their individual critiques. For the same reasons I shall enumerate below.
