Have a Family -- You NEED Tylenol

My partner and I were watching commercial TV yesterday.  Something I rarely do, but she wanted to watch Meet the Press, so we watched and lo 'n behold this advertisement came on about families.   When did you first become a family?   When you got married? When you had a child? It went on asking about when and how families are created. Finally came the product line -- Tylenol...??? What has Tylenol got to do with defining family? Nothing! The message is loud and clear. If you have a family you need a pain killer and Tylenol is there to kill the pain of having, or being a member of a family. I'm not a socialist. I'm an artist and artists "create" things and then they sell those things to other people and that makes us artists grassroots capitalists. Yet I'm always amazed that the people who run corporations pay AD-men so much money to come up with some of the DUMBEST advertising imaginable. Yes, there's some jealousy in that statement, I'll own that. But you got’ta wonder about the folks running Tylenol... Families are a pain, so keep a bottle of our pills around for coping with the pain of being part of a family. I'm sticking with PBS... No ads... Well almost no ads.. My philosophical nemesis Dave Koch gets his backdoor ad in with every NOVA program and a few others, but I like NOVA and the other programs so I put up with Dave's ads.
